Highlights from Thailand’s welcome reception as host of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group

The reception welcomed more than 4,000 participants, including delegates from around the world and guests of the Thai Government, under the theme “A Journey to New Horizons.” The event was led by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand; Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; and Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, Governor of the Bank of Thailand, at One Bangkok Forum on 16 October 2026.

Guests experienced the charm, beauty, and creativity of Thailand through a series of special performances, including The Spirit of Thailand, A Living Rhythm of Thailand and Rising to New Horizons showcasing Thai identity and culture while celebrating friendship and connections among people from around the world.

Across different floors of the venue, guests were also invited to discover Thailand from different perspectives from the vibrant atmosphere of Bangkok street food and contemporary Thai art and lifestyle, to dishes featuring Thai GI ingredients, demonstrations of traditional Thai desserts, and a Thai costume photo studio.
